FINALLY!!! The time has come! We can add that last sticker to our 100 day countdown to Disney! Nathan and I were very excited to wake up this morning and be able to fulfill this task.
The car was pretty much packed to the gills and there was enough room for all 4 of us to hop in and travel to Woodbridge, VA! You may be thinking to yourself, "Why were they headed to Woodbridge?" Well, today is the same day that Toy Story 3 is released and we all wanted to see it. Woodbridge had an early showing and we were able to catch it before we left on our trip.
We arrived at Potomac Mills Mall (huge mall) and found this Disney Store with a great display in front. We were just a tad excited to see the movie.
When we finally settled down in our seats, we had to put on these huge glasses to watch the 3-D movie. The drive and waking up early was worth it because we loved the movie. It was a good way to start our Disney vacation.
After the movie, we grabbed some lunch and drove to Lorton, VA. In Lorton, we found the Amtrak station. We were getting ready to ride the auto train all the way to Florida. These are the ramps that were used to load the automobiles, U-Hauls, and motorcycles in their special cars.
Some neat Auto Train tid bits:
We had a little time to kill before we could get on the train. They had a small play area at the station for us to get some energy out.
And, the grassy areas were helpful when we played Ring Around The Rosie (AKA swing Nathan around as fast as you possibly can).
On the train, Mommy and Nathan got a seat to themselves. They had plenty of room to spread their things out and get comfortable. We had to sit and wait a little bit before they had all of the people and cars loaded. We spent the time by checking out everything on the train.
Dinner that evening was at 5:00 in the dining cars. During dinner, Nathan spilled his milk and his water. It was a little difficult eating on a moving train without getting something all over yourself. Mom was lucky. She didn't get anything spilled on her but she didn't have Nathan hanging all over her.
Back in our seats, we tried to get a family picture.
It probably took us about 8 tries to get this shot. It's not perfect but it is us in our true form.
As night fell, we started to get sleepy. Nathan's bed of choice was the floor. I didn't hear any complaints from Mom because she got an entire seat to herself.
Nathan slept through most of the night with no problem. At one point, he got up off the floor and wandered over into where Dad and I were sitting. Dad told Nathan to go back over to Mom. Unfortunately, Nathan didn't make it back over to Mom. He ended up visiting the set of seats in front of Dad and I and tried to crawl up in the seat with a little girl that was sleeping there. Silly boy was so tired he didn't know where he was.
UH-OH! Down 4 the count! U guys musta wore him out! Fun'll do that to ya!
