A trip to Tampa/St.Pete

Mom decided to take off to Tampa/St. Petersburg, FL for a few days without us kids. She was going down there to meet up with some of her friends and to run a silly race called the Color Run.

The first person that she met there was Michelle. She and Michelle hung out together and did some shopping while they waited for the rest of the crew to arrive.

They fell in love with the Banyan trees and all of their exposed roots. 

Oh yes, while they waited, they had to go and pick up their goodies for the color run.  They got a T-shirt, a number, a headband, bracelet and a packet of color.

The day of the race, there were mobs of people.  They think that there were over 10,000 runners that day.  This was the starting line and the first heat of people to go through.

Mommy made it to the finish line although she walked most of it.  Look at all of the colors on her clothing.  While she was running, people on the sides of the roads threw colors at her.  How rude!!!  Even her socks and underwear were covered in color.

After the race, they cleaned up and went out on the pier for some dinner.  This is the view of St.Pete from the end of the pier. 

Time for a quiet day.  Ms. Alison and Ms. Kate accompanied Mom to the Sunken Gardens.  Yes, it was December and they are wearing short sleeves. 

Mom had a great time and can't wait for the next time that she can get some of her January 2008 mamas together again.  Who knows where they will end up next.
