We started out our cub scout camping weekend by making mountain pies over the fire. It was a Friday night so we had to eat and get to bed so that we could all get up early the next morning and get to breakfast.
We had pancakes for breakfast and then we went straight to learning some new skills. We learned how to use a compass.
Then, we tried our eye at some astronomy (during the day???)
Nathan and Mom caught a butterfly at the camp site.
Nathan had very little to do so he got to relax while Drew was learning all morning.
Time for lunch...Nathan's having a great time at camp with all of the boys.
Free time in the afternoon. What are we going to do with it? Go to the lake and build a fortress out of sand and greenery, of course.
Drew had a great time in the water and had an even better time playing with all of the kids.
The next morning, we hiked over to the breakfast area.
Later that night, it was campfire time. We made ice cream cones stuffed with peanut butter, bananas, marshmallows, and chocolate chips and then melted them over the fire.
