Camping with the critters

This weekend was our scheduled Mom's weekend in the camper. Aunt Lisa and Mommy planned to take all 3 of us boys camping. All was well until about 7:30 PM. We got a down pour! It rained for nearly the next three hours and it was REALLY lound in the camper. So loud that we couldn't talk to each other without yelling.

The next morning, the sun came out and we were glad to see that the campsite had dried up.  It gave Nathan a good chance to get into some trouble.
That afternoon, we went for a nature walk.  Aunt Lisa brought Ziplock Baggies and a list of outdoor objects for us to find.
We headed down Lakeside Trail only to find that last night's rain flooded the path.  The only way around this mess was to walk right through it.  Nathan didn't mind walking right through it but I don't think our Mom's wanted to deal with the mess of cleaning all three of us up.
Nathan was up to his ankles in water.
We found this pretty bird on our walk and it let Mom get pretty close to it to get a good picture.
Here are all three of us, handsomely posed in this tree.
Aunt Lisa and AJ took a good picture too.  What a fun tree!
Then, it was our turn but Nathan was being a little defiant.
We found roly poly bugs and let them tickle our arms.
We even made our own hot dogs over the camp fire.
Nathan's favorite game was opening and shutting the camper door.
And, playing with Scoop.
This is one of Nathan's favorite places to eat dinner.  He doesn't have to worry about falling off picnic table benches or being able to reach the table.
We had a good time with Aunt Lisa and AJ at the campsite.  Thanks for coming along and maybe we can take another adventure some time next year.
