Our first stop was the Air and Space Museum.
We climbed the tower and watched planes take off from Dulles Airport. They got pretty close and it was fun to watch.
This is how we watched the planes. We couldn't believe how many of them were taking off.
We practiced at the air traffic control station.
Then, we went to look at some of the cool planes in the museum.
Nathan liked the helicopters.
Dad liked the Space Shuttle Enterprise.
One of the coolest things was this R2D2 mailbox.
This is a view of the Concord from the top deck.
This was the last day for the Enterprise to be on display. After this, they are bringing in the Space Shuttle Discovery.
The next day was spent at the National Zoo. While we waited for some friends, we posed for some pictures.
The dancing panda was pretty cool to watch. He just stood at the gate and paced. We thought he was dancing.
Oh look! We posed some more.
We watched the Orangutans.
They climbed the tower and then crossed the ropes to the other side.
The lions were pretty neat. They were laying in the shade to avoid the heat of the day.
We found a dinosaur head to crawl on.
The tigers were pacing to keep cool.
This is the gang of friends that we were traveling around the park with. Three of the kids in this picture were born in January of 2008. Besides Nathan, can you guess the other two?
The last cool animal that we saw before we left were the cheetahs. They were just laying in the grass.
