This is the entrance to Disney's California Adventure. We got there before the lines got too long and before the heat got unbearable.
We headed over to the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail where there were all kinds of fun things for us to discover. We learned about the giant redwood trees and animal tracks while we were there.
We learned the Wilderness Explorer's oath with Russell and promised to be good explorers.
Russell was kind enough to take pictures with us too.
Nathan found this cool hat.
After playing around for a little bit, we found that the Pixar Play Parade was going by. They had some different floats and characters that we don't normally get to see in Florida. Crush was pretty cool riding high on his float.
The aliens from Toy Story were pretty cute too!
Woody was being a prankster and squirting water at the crowd with is blaster.
Daddy captured this great picture of Paradise Pier while we were hanging out.
We found Donald by the water. He was happy to see Nathan.
We took Granno on her first Midway Mania ride. We thought we would pair her up with Drew because he was the best one to show her all the tricks of the game.
Then, there was Mickey's Fun Wheel. The Ferris wheel that you can see on the Paradise Pier picture that Dad took is pretty amazing. Part of it was a normal Ferris Wheel that took you round and round.
The other part of the Wheel had cars that slid up and down a track when you reached certain points on the wheel. Mom and Drew wanted to ride the car that slipped up and down the rails. Granno and Nathan weren't so sure. Dad said "No Way". The ride attendant told Nathan that if he went on the moving cars, she would give him a sticker. He is easily persuaded. Then, Granny followed him over. Under peer pressure, Daddy came along too. (He also got a sticker to show his bravery).
The ride started out nice and smooth. Then we got to the point that the car took it's first swing on the rails. WHOA! What a weird feeling. You couldn't tell when you were going to stop and it was actually quite scary...but fun. Mommy grabbed her seat. Daddy looked at her and said "Told you so." and Nathan giggled in delight.
This picture was just too cute. Can't resist two cute smiling faces.
Granno bought us a new treat. This treat is called a Churro for those of you who can't really figure out what it is. Cinnamon goodness is a good way to describe it. Nathan fell in love and didn't want to share with the group but we all got our fair share.
If you look closely, there are two people that you should recognize on California Screamin'. Yup Granno and Drew were coaster buddies and up for the adventure. This was a great ride and we lost track of how many times that Drew rode it.
Drew and Nathan posed for a quick picture with Flik before coursing back through the park.
We also found Pluto before the day was over.
Again, we had a great day but MOST of us were tired and headed back to the room.
